In 2019, Michael Melzer joined the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und –prüfung (BAM) in Berlin to take over the responsibility for its DAkkS-accredited calibration laboratory. After finalizing the diploma degree in physics from the Potsdam University (Germany), he was working at the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research (IFW Dresden) for more than 9 years to achieve a PhD in physics from the Chemnitz University of Technology (Germany) and lead a Leibnitz junior research group.
