Nicole Jung studied chemistry at the University of Frankfurt am Main. After her diploma in 2004 she moved to KIT, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, where she worked in the field of organic and combinatorial chemistry including method development for solid-phase chemistry. She received her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Stefan Bräse in 2008. Nicole is working at the Compound Platform (ComPlat) as part of the group of Stefan Bräse at KIT-Campus North and leads projects dealing with the development of software to enable the digitalization of workflows and documentation in chemistry labs. Her most prominent projects are the Chemotion ELN, an electronic lab notebook offering special processes and features for chemists and the repository Chemotion which can be used to publish research data that describe the work of with scientific publications. She is one of the co-spokespersons of the National Research Data Infrastructure for Chemistry and responsible for task area 2 (smart labs).
